- Doctor who is a mainstream TV series as its a long running. When Doctor who was a newer series the main appeal were men, not having many diverse characters and genders, however that changed in 1970-2010 increasing the female audience by 22%.

2) What audience pleasures are offered by Doctor Who - An Unearthly Child? Apply Blumler and Katz's Uses and Gratifications theory to the episode. Make sure you provide specific examples from the episode to support your ideas.
- Using Blumler and Katz's uses and gratifications theory, Doctor who features multiple audience pleasures, mainly Personal identity as many people may relate or feel as if Susan reflects their personality or issues with fitting in with the people around them. Doctor who also uses Surveillance/Information giving the consumer information about space, time and even history.
